Charity Art Jam | July 2014
A fundraising charity art jam in support of the Rotary Wish Project was helo in July 2014 where we raised over $30K.
The fundraising event was an evening of fun, creativity, and inspiration. It was a one-of-a-kind soirée that could not be missed. Proceeds collected from the fundraising event were channeled directly to the beneficiaries of the Rotary Wish Project, allowing more needy patients to fulfill their last and final wishes. |

One Last Family Portrait
One Last Family Portrait
“It was Jeffrey’s desire to have a family portrait once every five years since his diagnosis of cancer in year 2000. In Sept 2009, my family was due to have another portrait. However, Jeffrey refused because he felt ugly with feeding tubes sticking out of his nose. As Jeffrey’s condition worsened, I wanted all the more to get this ‘wish’ done, especially for the kids to cherish and remember their last days with their dad. My family is totally grateful to ‘My Wish’ Project which made this possible. Jeffrey died after a week of viewing the photos. He was totally happy with the pictures.”
A thank you note submitted on behalf of Jeffrey’s family by HCA Hospice Care (Featured in the June 2010 publication of Hospice Link, available at www.singaporehospice.org.sg) |

Tan Tock Seng Hospital
Tan Tock Seng Hospital
We would like to thank the nurses, medical social workers, and staff of the Dept of Care & Counselling at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) for their warm hospitality during our visit.
The attentive audience made full use of the sharing session and asked several good questions - we certainly had a lively group! We hope the talk was as interesting as it was informative and helped to spark interest in the 'My Wish' Project. For those who have yet to visit TTSH, one interesting find that we came across while walking through the hospital was the TTSH Heritage Museum. This teeny little museum is packed with fascinating artefacts and memorabilia from the past. Don't let some of the old-fashioned and archaic medical instruments scare you! Visit to Bright Vision Hospital
Visit to Bright Vision Hospital
Bright Vision Hospital (BVH), located off of Yio Chu Kang on Lorong Napiri, prides itself as being an all-in-one healthcare facility that offers step-down care. From in-patient care to hospice care, and from rehabilitation to old age nursing, BVH provides a seamless continuum of services to meet the needs of the underprivileged and elderly. Volunteers from the MY WISH Project had an opportunity to speak to the dedicated team of doctors, nurses, administrators and medical social workers that strive to make a difference in the everyday lives of the patients they care for. It was truly an inspirational visit. To learn more about Bright Vision Hospital: www.bvh.org.sg

Visit to Agape Methodist Hospice
Visit to Agape Methodist Hospice
It takes a bit of direction-know-how to find Agape Methodist Hospice (AMH), which is tucked within the Anglo-Chinese School campus on Barker Road. Once found, however, the cozy setting and friendly staff will put anyone at ease.
AMH is one of several outreach programs under the umbrella of Methodist Welfare Services, whose parent organization is The Methodist Church of Singapore. One of the special features of AMH is its homecare service, which is offered at no cost to individuals diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. AMH's patients come from various financial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. The MY WISH team met up with the medical and nursing staff at AMH and was touched by their plight to help improve the lives of terminally ill patients. We were left with a lasting impression long after our visit. To learn more about Agape Methodist Hospital: www.mws.org.sg |
